Family Dollar names VP of human resources

Family Dollar Stores Inc. has named Jacob Modla to the newly created position of vice president of human resources. He most recently was the company’s vice president and deputy general counsel.
Modla joined the discount retailer in 2004 as assistant general counsel of litigation.

Matthews-based Family Dollar (NYSE:FDO) has more than 6,700 stores in 44 states. The company was founded in 1959.
