Cessna announces 95 layoffs in Independence

Cessna Aircraft Co. on Thursday issued 95 layoff notices to workers at its facility in Independence.
“This adjustment is part of the plan developed last year to align production rates with market demand,” Cessna spokesman Doug Oliver said in an e-mail. “This change does not impact our already-announced 2010 delivery schedule fast payday loan no faxing.”
The Independence facility assembles and delivers several of Cessna’s single-engine piston models.
Cessna has cut its workforce, company-wide, in half since 2008.
